Intro to Industry
Overview
Students will gain a holistic overview of career opportunities in the film & media industry, as well as an understanding of the state of the industry. CFI stands apart from other programs because of its focus on Native American representation. This required course offers content not found in other training programs, such as what to expect when filming with tribes and protocol for filming on tribal lands.
Instructors

Taylor Hensel is an award-winning producer, writer, director and Cherokee Nation citizen based in Oklahoma. Her work has been showcased at major film festivals worldwide including Sundance, and has streamed internationally.

Brit is an Oklahoma-based director and award-winning filmmaker whose work explores themes of environment, Indigenous women’s experiences, language and her people’s connection to the lands of Oklahoma and North Carolina. A citizen of the Cherokee Nation, she is the first female enrolled member of the tribe to direct a film selected by the Sundance Film Festival.
